- Hazel M. King, 82, passed away early Monday morning, at her home. She was the daughter of Edward and Aurora (Gardner) LaFave. She was raised in Escanaba and lived here most of her life. She graduated from Escanaba High School in 1951.
She was employed at the Red Owl Store as a cashier for many years before it closed and then worked at Kmart until her retirement, She also sold Avon and was a senior companion.
Hazel was a member of St. Anne's Church and the Eagles Auxiliary.
Among the survivors are two sons, James (Laura) King Jr. and Raymond (Brenda) King; two daughters, Donna (Jerry) Eis and Debra (Robert) McIntyre; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Gary (Pam) LaFave of Escanaba.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Donald and Harold LaFave; sisters, Viola LaForest, Theresa Crepeau, Ethel LaFond and an infant sister, Gloria.
